Vicky Hartzler tells gay student that he ‘shouldn’t feel bad’ about her anti-gay politics (video)
Congresswoman Vicky
Hartzler can’t escape her comments from earlier this month comparing same-sex marriage with incest and pedophilia. Alex Sable-Smith, a University of Missouri medical student who happens to be gay, confronted Hartzler yesterday about her anti-gay record after a town hall meeting in Butler, Missouri. Hartzler, after trying to determine whether Sable-Smith was a Democrat or a Republican, acted surprised that she’d be asked about the 2004 constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage and her comments at the Eagle Forum.
Hartzler claimed that it was all a “misunderstanding” and “taken out of context.” She also told Sable-Smith that he “shouldn’t feel bad” about her anti-gay politics. I’m sure she was sincere when she said, “It was nice to meet you guys” before retreating.
