Urban Pollination

Clever physicist Albert Einstein famously said that if all the world’s bees disappeared, “man would have only four years of life left.” But life-giving crop pollination aside, there are lots of reasons to learn how to run your own apiary: cultivating delicious honey; disappearing inside a cloud of your own tiny minions, like a supervillain; sporting a fashionable beard of bees. Whatever the reason, learn the ins and outs at an urban beekeeping class from 10 a.m. to noon, taught by longtime beekeeper Chris Johnson at the best (only) organic and sustainable grocery in the Crossroads Art District, the Bad Seed (1909 McGee). The class costs $35. For more information on this and other awesome classes, call 913-522-3458.
