Twin Peaks is opening an outpost in Olathe

Twin Peaks is changing the topography in Olathe. The Texas-based restaurant chain will be taking over the space at 14805 W. 119th St., formerly the home of My Big Fat Greek Restaurant. Twin Peaks is meant to evoke a mountain lodge — a lodge that shows sports, has draft beer at 29 degrees, and female servers in tiny plaid tops and short khaki shorts.

The development agreement with KC Lodge Ventures LLC, which counts Paul Khoury (co-founder of PB&J restaurants), his son Patrick Khoury, and Tom Petersen among its partners, calls for three restaurants with an option for a fourth location in the Kansas City area. Twin Peaks is in the midst of a major expansion with plans to open 75 new locations over the next several years. Earlier this summer, the Associated Press wrote of the “brestaurant boom,” wherein restaurants in the style of Hooters are one of the few restaurant segments actually growing.

Anybody been to a Twin Peaks?
