Trevor Garms, 18, shot and killed by homeowner during home invasion
Kansas City, Missouri, police have identified the man shot and killed by a homeowner during a home invasion on Monday afternoon. Police say Trevor Garms, 18, and another man, armed with guns, broke into a home at 58th and Garfield. They encountered a woman who was home and was armed herself.
Police say the woman shot Garms in self-defense. Garms tried to flee the home but collapsed on the sidewalk outside the home. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The second man, described as a black man wearing an orange shirt, also fled.
