Travis Pernell and Melvin Taylor killed in double homicide Wednesday

The victims of last night’s double homicide have been identified as Travis Pernell and Melvin Taylor. KCMO’s homicide total is now at 70 for 2012.

Police received a shots-fired call at 32nd and College around 11:51 p.m. Officers found Pernell, 24, and Taylor, 29, suffering from gunshot wounds. One died at the scene. The other was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A third man was shot but suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He sought help at a fire station at Linwood and Indiana.
