Town hall meeting tonight to address health and safety issues at Honeywell’s Kansas City Plant

Recent press coverage by The Pitch and Channel 41 boosted the visibility of Bannister Federal Complex workers who are sick with occupational illnesses. So, now what?
Former and current Honeywell workers and their families, peaceniks, environmental activists and workers’ rights proponents will tackle that question at a gathering at the St. Thomas More Church, 11822 Holmes Road, from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
There is much to discuss. As Honeywell prepares to move to a new facility at Highway 150 and Botts Road, how can the public be sure that chemical contamination at the old site is cleaned up completely? How can sick workers get the compensation they deserve from the federal government? And will any VIPs like Sen. Claire McCaskill make an appearance?
The town hall is open to the public. Contact Ann Suellentrop of Physicians for Social Responsibility at annsuellen@gmail.com for more information.
