Tough times for laid-off Star copy editor

The growing number of errors in The Kansas City Star could be because copy editors like Les Weatherford were laid off. Bottom Line Communications has an update on Weatherford, who, after nearly 22 years of service, was laid off last November.
That wasn’t the worst of it. Weatherford’s wife, Donna, was diagnosed with cancer around the same time.
Bottom Line reports:
This week Donna has started “radical chemotherapy and today she is undergoing a stem-cell transplant.
When Donna’s chemotherapy is done she will have 30 days of isolation at home (“No visitors, no food prepared outside the house, no fresh meats or fish, no deli salads, just frozen packaged stuff and junk out a can.”).
We want to wish Les and Donna well during this time. You can, too, by clicking here.
