Tonight: James Christos and family at the Riot Room

Tonight, scrappy, tough and compelling KC rapper James Christos takes over the Riot Room patio, bringing along cohorts PL (formerly of the Soul Servers) and the fresh-from-the-kitchen-new group the Pyrex Kidz. Also grabbing the mic will be FLO, Greg Enemy and BUCC$, with Jamel Rockwell on beats. It’s going to be the perfect blend of street and indie, so be prepared to use your brain and down some Hennessey. Ladies get in for free before 10:30, so get there early and often.

This show kicks off Christos’ sure-to-be-epic Anarchy Tour, which will find the rapper and his posse on the road through much of June — and not just the Midwest, neither. Christos is bad, he’s nationwide, and he’ll be filing diary entries for the Wayard Blog while on the road, so start looking for updates beginning around June 15. It’s going to be unreal.

“It’s not gonna be glamorous,” Christos told me a couple of weeks ago. “It’ll be the cornbread circuit. We’re probably gonna come back 20 lbs. skinnier.”

If you can’t make it out to tonight’s show, post up on Tombcast.net and JamesChristos.com for live streaming video of tonight’s show.

But first, here’s Christos’ video for the song “Higher,” off The Black Reign, produced by Tombcast.
