An NFL lockout won’t just punish those of us who like to watch football on Sundays. Is anyone thinking of the coaches? The general managers? The Kansas City Star reported today that a lockout will mean pay cuts for everyone from Chiefs coach Todd Haley to general manager Scott Pioli.

A work stoppage means pay cuts for everyone. The good news for Chiefs employees: There won’t be layoffs or furloughs, and they’ll get to keep their benefits. That is, if they survived the first round of layoffs that came after the season. (Yay! We won the AFC West and made the playoffs. Pink slip? Wha?) Am I wrong that these layoffs were awfully quiet? Did anyone hear about them?
