T-Model Ford at Davey’s Uptown Ramblers Club

​T-Model Ford, also known as James Lewis Carter Ford, is the real deal. His fiery, raw blues music doesn’t just sound like the Delta; it’s born of it.

His age is unknown (he thinks he was born sometime between 1921 and 1925), and he’s from Forest, Mississippi. Here’s what his biography over at his label, Fat Possum Records, says:

T-Model was sentenced to ten years on a chain-gang for murder. He lucked out and was released after serving two. He says, grinning, “I could really stomp some ass back then, stomp it good. I was a-sure-enough-dangerous man.”
