Timothy McClendon accused of killing Jose Jenkins in gunfight at 42nd and Prospect car wash

Video cameras captured the shootout at the 42nd and Prospect car wash that ended in the killing of Jose Jenkins.
Jenkins, 37, became Kansas City’s 84th homicide victim Sunday night. Authorities believe they’ve found his killer: Jackson County prosecutors charged 34-year-old Timothy McClendon with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in Jenkins’ death.
According to court records, the video shows Jenkins initiating the shootout, firing shots at McClendon, who took off running and returned fire and hit Jenkins.
