For the third annual year, Timeless—an Arizona-based cannabis and lifestyle company that also has a presence in the Missouri market—has partnered with local nonprofit Head for the Cure for a campaign they call ‘Shred for the Cure’. Head for the Cure is a Kansas City-based 501c3 that focuses on spreading brain cancer awareness and raising money for research through events and community outreach.

Partnering with local brain cancer survivor and skateboarder DJ Stewart and his wife Erin, along with local artist John F. Malta, Timeless has released a flip case and battery combo, along with a new strain named ‘Heelflip’ for cannabis consumer’s vaporizers across all six states where the brand is located. Between May 15 and Jun 30, Missourians can purchase these Malta-designed cases in which all profits will go directly to Head for the Cure.

Good Day Farm, CODES, Nature Med, Swade, Latitude Dispensaries, and The Forest are the local dispensaries that are taking part in the fundraising campaign and are distributing the product.

Prior to Stewart’s glioblastoma diagnosis in 2019, he was an avid skateboarder, consistently ripping around the concrete jungle that is Kansas City, and even being a helping hand in building the Harrison Street DIY Skate Park near Columbus Park. That hasn’t changed. While there are many more precautions taken, Stewart continues to shred with his lifelong friends who have been one of the largest parts of his support system throughout his battle with cancer.

So to make the collaboration between Head for the Cure and Timeless even more personalized to Stewart’s values, skateboards with a similar design by Malta are coinciding with the battery-packed case fundraiser. The decks can be found at Studio Skate Supply in KCK, with all profits also going to the nonprofit.

“I try not to be too cliche with the ‘live like you’re dying’ thing, but I’m more like, ‘live like you’re living,'” Stewart says. “Have something to look forward to, make plans.”

Since the fundraiser’s inception back in 2022, Shred for the Cure has helped around $60,000 for brain cancer awareness through community events and flip case, strain, and skateboard sales.

The campaign began when Timeless’s KC Marketing Manager Trenton Warner—who had known Stewart for years—brought the idea to him. Three years later, the wheels are still spinning on this philanthropic pursuit.

“To combine all the things that I love in my life and then do them for a cause takes that to a completely different level, especially because the cause directly affects my life,” Stewart says. “Selfishly, it feels fucking awesome to be able to make people smile and laugh and have some hope in these terrible, terrible times. I wish I could say that I just did it for them, but it does feel good, and I don’t have any intention of stopping. I’ll do it forever.”

“DJ and Erin are extraordinary human beings who have been through tough times and came out on the other side inspired to help people,” says Kyle Webb, VP of Marketing at Timeless. “Timeless is proud to support their cause for the third consecutive year. Since our inaugural campaign in 2023, Shred for the Cure has gone beyond a fundraising initiative to become a cultural and community-building event, which embodies what we at Timeless are all about.”

The incredibly intricate designs on each case embody the spirit that Stewart, the organization, and the brand hope to push forward; a spirit of perseverance, drive, and dedication to overcome challenges in the coolest ways imaginable.

On June 21, ‘Go Skate Day’, Stewart and Head for the Cure will be at the DIY skate park near Columbus Park for a day-long event, bringing together local nonprofits and businesses together.
