Throwback Thursday: Watch Jason Beers and Betse Ellis play ‘John Henry,’ at RecordBar tonight

If anyone can name every band that Jason Beers has ever been in, they deserve an award just as much as Beers does for his genre-hopping, multi-instrumental talents. In addition to bands like Wild Chipmunk and the Cuddly Poos, the Brannock Device, and others, Beers plays solo quite a bit, where you can see his prowess on the likes of the banjo and even the saw.
Tonight at RecordBar, as part of Roll On: The Iron Fest of John Daley, Beers will perform along with Dave Tanner, Anthony Ladesich and Kyle Dahlquist, Gregg Todt and Troy Van Horn, the People’s Punk Band, the Philistines, and Delicious Friction. The show is a benefit, and all covers go to the late Daley’s family.
You can watch Beers play a show at the Record Bar from August of 2011 below, where he and Betse Ellis tackle the traditional number, “John Henry.”
Roll On: The Iron Fest of John Daley is tonight at the RecordBar, and more information can be found here.
