A user by the name of evlhrt has been uploading video of late ’80s and early ’90s Kansas City metal acts to YouTube lately, and it’s been an absolute delight. There are quite a few videos from the likes of Foxy Foxy and Tegath, performing live at shuttered clubs such as Niener’s and the Lone Star. The audio’s solid, even if the video’s shot halfway back and pixelated all to hell.

However, the gem of this collection is a 15-minute “remastered” version of a promotional VHS tape from KC progressive metal act Darkside, entitled Evolution Of Darkness. If you’re familiar with Headbanger’s Ball circa 1994, this will hit each and every metal video cliche of the time, coupled with quite a few grunge-worthy fashion choices. But Darkside performs with such absolute genuine enthusiasm, you can’t help but sit back and enjoy.
