Throwback Thursday: Go back to the future with this live clip from the Primetime Heroes

Topeka pop-punk foursome the Primetime Heroes were supposed to play last weekend’s Field Day Fest, but were quietly replaced without an explanation. Given that these guys were once one of the area’s biggest bands, it’s kind of a bummer to see that they couldn’t get together for their first Lawrence show in almost a decade. The quartet has played several reunion shows as of late, but they’ve been mostly in Topeka.

What’s the point of this video, then? Well, this partial set —  from their last Lawrence show in July of 2005 — begins with a performance of Huey Lewis and the News’ “Power of Love,” and tomorrow, July 3, is the thirtieth anniversary of Back to the Future. And that’s something worth celebrating, dammit.

You can also check out a studio recording of “The Power of Love” at the Primetime Heroes’ Reverbnation page.
