Three dead, 11 injuried from gunfire in two days

- In just over one day, Kansas City more than caught up with 2012 homicide stats.
Kansas City was having a relatively decent year murderwise until Sunday night. Last week, the city was at 45 homicides – two fewer than at the same time in 2012. But it all went to crap over the last 36 hours or so when the city added three homicides in a spate of shootings.
The first homicide of Monday night happened outside an apartment complex at 1715 Kansas Avenue, after a pair of groups exchanged gunfire with each other. Police found a 30-year-old man dead in the parking lot. Three other people were hurt in the shooting.
