Thornburgh will help lead Brownback’s bid for governor

On Tuesday, Kansas Secretary of State, Ron Thornburgh, and U.S. Senator Sam Brownback primed the media pump, amping up intrigue for their joint announcement at the Kansas Republican Party headquarters this morning.
Well, here’s the big news. Thornburgh isn’t going to be Brownback’s running mate; he’s going to co-chair the campaign.
According to PrimeBuzz, the two men exchanged praise during the press event. Brownback complimented Thornburgh for his “strong commitment to our party’s core principles.” Thornburgh returned the favor by calling the Senator “a tireless worker dedicated to the success of Kansas.”
It’s almost enough to make you forget that the primary is still 11 months away.
