The Prids

rtlenecks in buzz, but much that was said about the Stills above also rings true for the Prids. The trio has origins in a St. Joseph band called Death Tech for Teens. The group resurfaced in Lincoln, Nebraska, and was a staple of the Omaha scene that produced the Faint and Bright Eyes. It then took a sharp left and landed in the hippie haven of Portland, Oregon. Perhaps the Prids were looking for a little inspiration from the rainy skies of the Pacific Northwest to complement their somber synthesis of the Smiths, et al., and modern-day moderators of the new-wave tradition such as, yes, the Stills. Thus, the circle of life and moping about death comes right ’round. Like a record, baby.
