Playlist Guest #40: Aleah Gollier

Who are you and what do you do?

Hi, I’m Aleah. I’m the newest intern here at The Pitch and am having a ball! I’m kind of a catch-all person around the office since I am not only working in editorial. I work on social media, archive magazines, and some stories too! I just finished my freshman year at the University of Kansas and am majoring in Business Marketing with a minor in Journalism. My holy trinity is shopping, traveling, and hanging with friends so that’s what I choose to do in my spare time!

My music taste is very mixed. I listen to just about everything from folk, EDM, rap, to country. Basically, my Spotify Wrapped is always very confusing.

Where can we support/follow your work?

I just completed my first story which you can check out here with the rest of my upcoming stories!

“You Should Probably Leave” by Chris Stapleton

An oldie but a goodie. In the last year, I rediscovered this song and have listened to it a kazillion times since then! Basically, all Chris Stapleton songs have been my go-to for summer.

“Lucerne” by Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners

This is kind of a hidden gem. The song has some really good one-liners that I scream in my car on occasion. Had to include it.

“Heart’s Content” by Brandi Carlile

This is a recent discovery of mine but is probably going to be in my top five songs for the rest of my life. It’s a song you can play in the car with your grandma and friends, but also hits when you’re alone. This is the best song to listen to when you are having a bad day or a good one.

“right where you left me” by Taylor Swift

Now to Taylor! I love her music and this is easily my favorite song of hers. I listen to it way too often but it never fails (especially in the Fall). It’s a really good crowd-pleaser but will also have you crying at 2 a.m.

“Dopamine” by BØRNS

Last but not least! I love this song because it is so compelling with its fun beat and euphoric feel. My perfect summer song is a windows down, post lake, or pool with friends vibe. This fits exactly that.
