The Pitch Flickr Pool Pic of the Week: Kansas City Hot Air Balloon Invitational

Intuition and luck were behind this awesome photo taken by Pitch Flickr Pool member Steve Thompson. When Thompson heard about last week’s Kansas City Hot Air Invitational in Gardner, he knew he had to go. The self-proclaimed “SLR newbie” thought the event would be a great way to flex his SLR muscle.

“I had noticed earlier that their was a small lake next to the park and as I did close-ups of the balloon night glow, I thought maybe they would reflect into the lake,” Thompson shared with us. “I promptly got to the other side of the lake and shot this and a couple of other photos; luckily they were still glowing when I got there.”
