The most romantic story ever?

Lord knows, I’m not a seriously romantic guy. The occasional CD or t-shirt is pretty much the limit of my skills in that department. I’m not a hand-holder, nor any of that. However, I feel that’s entirely justified, because there is no way in hell anyone could ever top the romantic sentiment that Ann Druyan currently has floating through the cosmos.
The Radiolab story that aired on today’s Morning Edition was about Druyan’s falling in love with her late husband, Carl Sagan. In the story (which you can listen to here), Druyan talks about what she personally included on the golden record currently heading out in the universe on the Voyager spacecraft:
So, just a few days after she and Sagan declared their love for each other, Druyan went to Bellevue Hospital in New York City and meditated while the sounds of her brain and body were recorded. According to Druyan, part of what she was thinking during that meditation was about “the wonder of love, of being in love.”
That means that the virutal essence of Druyan’s love for Sagan is out there, floating in the galactic void, waiting for someone or something to find it and listen. If that’s not the most romantic thing ever, I don’t know what is. You can explore the entire Golden Record at NASA’s website.
