The King of Cade arcade game tournament is coming to Up-Down on March 20

The folks at Up-Down want to find out who is the best arcade gamer in Kansas City.

On Sunday, March 20, Up-Down will hold the first King of Cade competition. Thirty-two competitors will be assigned randomly to games — arcade games, pinball, skee-ball and Nintendo 64 — throughout Up-Down until the King of Cade is crowned in this double-elimination tournament.

The winner will walk away with four Diamond Club suite tickets with a tailgate pass and party cooler, plus two-for-one tokens at Up-Down through April 1, 2017.

Registration is now open at KingOfCade.com. If you’re interested, here are the rules. Shit might get real if ex-Joust champion and Kansas City resident Steve Sanders, who was featured in The King of Kong documentary, happens to show up and roll the machine.

No word on whether the best pinball machine in the joint, World Cup, is included in the tourney.
