The Kansas City Symphony, Diverse Jazz and more perform at Celebration at the Station on Sunday

If you prefer a more active, fun-filled Memorial Day weekend – as opposed to, say, the massive amounts of napping yours truly shall be undertaking – then the Kansas City Symphony has organized just the event for you.

On Sunday, May 24, get down to Union Station for the annual Celebration at the Station. The Kansas City Symphony will be performing “patriotic favorites” at the historic location at 8 p.m., and several other live music acts are lined up throughout the day. Oh, and fireworks.

Here’s the music lineup for the main stage:

1:30 – 2:15 p.m. – Diverse Jazz Quartet
2:30 – 3:15 – Allegro Children’s Choir: SPIRITO
3:30 – 4:15 – Vine Street Seven
4:30 – 5:15 – A La Mode Quintet
5:30 – 6:15 – U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America “Phoenix Brass”
8 p.m. – The Kansas City Symphony

Then, at 9:45: Fireworks over Liberty Memorial!

There are several other options at this year’s Celebration at the Station, as the Union Station opens exhibits and a “Celebration Family Zone” opens up to entertain younger attendees.

This is a free, all-ages event. Details here
