The Eagles are taking over the Sprint Center tonight

Most people I know hate the Eagles. Like, vehemently loathe them. (Last month, a woman stabbed her roommate just for listening to them.) And I know their distaste is perfectly justified: In its 42-year history, the band has delivered an astounding number of hits that have left oily grease marks on the great tablecloth of American rock.
But let’s be real. “Desperado” and “Hotel California” are actually really solid songs, and they’ve been spinning on repeat in the back of everyone’s heads for decades. This show is a fine opportunity for you to see a band that has survived volatile mood swings – the music industry’s, Don Henley’s – and has the hair to prove it.
Here’s a video from that brief moment in history when the Eagles might have been cool. Just listen to those smooth, smooth harmonies.
