The Brody Buster Band
If we had the kind of time it’d take to count the number of keyboardists we’ve seen bawling backstage just because the stinking harmonica player gets all the chicks, we would have had time to pay our taxes last year. And the seven years that came before last year. Agent Struthers, if you’re reading this, hope you’re enjoying garnisheeing those wages, you dick. Anyway, if there ever was a harmonica player capable of moving guitarists to tears, Brody Buster is the man. Buster — still a wee lad of eighteen — started playing blues harmonica at seven, was playing on Beale Street by eight and jammed with B.B. King at ten. Would it have killed the guy to have played with a plastic Happy Meal harmonica for a couple of years to give us time to catch up? Showoff. In his old age, Buster has added guitar and vocals to his repertoire and pulled together the Brody Buster Band, doling out liberal portions of driven, blues-laced music.
