This year is drawing to a close, and whatever your feelings about leaving 2023 behind, The Big Biscuit has one last way for you to sweeten it. Through Dec. 31, The Big Biscuit is serving its seasonal gingerbread pancakes.

The large, pillowy pancakes are topped with cinnamon sugar, vanilla icing, and whipped cream—a sugar rush of epic proportions. These pancakes can be leveled up further with a hot chocolate, French vanilla cappuccino, or one of the restaurant’s flavored iced coffees.

Although the pancakes are only available for a limited time, sweet tooths can be satisfied year-round with the Loaded Sticky Biscuit, which is smothered in icing, pecans, and cranberries. It’s proof that big things can indeed come in small packages.

Look no further than the chain’s name for a savory alternate. For obvious reasons, flaky biscuits swimming in sausage gravy are one of the most popular orders. You may need to unbutton your jeans to finish the sides of buttery hashbrowns and golden eggs, but such is life.

The Big Biscuit has 25 locations, but its heart (and headquarters) is in Kansas City. Its second annual Pajama Jam event concluded on Dec. 18. The drive partnered with Q104 and Jenny Matthews to benefit Operation Breakthrough and collected over 2,000 pairs of children’s pajamas to provide clean sleepwear to kids in need.

“We’ve had a chance to learn a lot about what Operation Breakthrough does for these underprivileged children,” Big Biscuit President Chad Offerdahl said. “We knew that with the presence we have here in Kansas City, being a Kansas City brand and a Kansas City company, we could help magnify the effect that Jenny Matthews is driving with this. It was just a natural partnership.”

The Big Biscuit is also hosting a drive with the Community Blood Center on Jan. 15 at its corporate headquarters in Overland Park. Sign-up slots are available from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
