The 15 Lamest Rockstar Deaths

It’s overcast and chilly outside, so I’m starting to get in the Halloween spirit, so macabre and mildly gross topics are going to be showing up more and more in the coming weeks. Over at Comedy.com’s Music site, they’ve got a list of the fifteen lamest rockstar deaths. From Stiv Bators getting hit by a cab to Sonny Bono hitting a tree while skiing, I’d agree that each and every inclusion is fairly lame.

But what’s the most rockstar death ever? Brian Jones? Randy Rhoads? Elliot Smith?

Really, drowning in a pool after too much drinking was more appropriate for Jones than most anything else, and pretty unsurprising (unless it was MURDER!). Buzzing a tour bus in a plane while fucked up — also pretty rockstar. But who’d have though Elliot Smith would be tough enough to stab himself in the chest — TWICE?
