The 11th annual Troost Festival is this weekend

All y’all who talk a big game about bridging the racial and socioeconomic divide of Troost Avenue: You’ve got an opportunity to put your money (or, at least, your time) where your mouth is this Saturday, May 16.

The 11th Annual Troost Festival will be held on Troost between 31st Street and Linwood Boulevard. The festivities begin at noon and run until about 10 p.m.

The lineup is a hodgepodge of music, art, activism and education. It includes tunes from Nicolette PaigeAY Musik and My Brothers and Sisters (and more), spoken-word poetry from Miss Conception, and exhibitions from Literacy Kansas City, One Struggle KC, OM Film Fest, and the Tiny House Collective Kansas City. (Look for our feature on tiny houses in Kansas City in the issue of The Pitch out Wednesday.)

Children’s activities run until 5 pm; the last stage act goes on at 9 p.m. More info here
