T-E-A-G-O

If traditional bingo bores you, perhaps Teago can tempt you back into the lively world of game boards and buttons. Instead of yelling out a combination of numbers and letters, the Teago caller uses tea themes to keep the game moving along. That’s the plan for the weekly Teago Wednesdays, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shabby Hattie’s Tea Room and Boutique in Parkville (113 Main, 816-587-1044). Owner Marcia Cherrito charges $15 — patrons must pay when making a reservation — for a tea-rific two hours of house-made desserts, be verages (including a wide variety of freshly brewed teas) and prizes. Cherrito says Teago is more than just a game — it’s also a social event. You might find your soulmate at the next table, matching the word Darjeeling to the corresponding spot on his or her game board. Love at first sip? It’s an intoxicating idea, anyway.
