Taste the World

Here’s some local trivia: KC is home to a Welsh Folk Dancing Society and the Chanda-Bangladesh Association. Also true: Bangladesh and Wales are two of the 42 countries represented at this weekend’s 29th-annual Ethnic Enrichment Festival at Swope Park (Meyer Boulevard and Swope Parkway). During the event, the park’s bandstand will be the site of cultural performances every half-hour. And a booth for every country will display ethnic wares, meals and crafts. Tasty foreign beers will flow at the international beer garden. For the kiddies, organizers have an expanded International Youth Booth where creative activities will rule the day. The festival is open from 6 to 10 p.m. today, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3; children get in free. For more information and event schedules, see
