Sweatin’ today’s snow? MODOT’s not
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We know. You’re sick of snow. But it’s still winter — it’s still February.
Look at the Missouri Department of Transportation! They’re not whining about this perfectly normal, meteorological phenomenon of frozen precipitation collecting on the roads and highways.
MODOT’s spokespeople in Jefferson City say the big-ass dumping of snow we got three weeks ago cost around $7.7 million to clean up. They’re counting the estimated costs of labor (2,500 employees), equipment (1,600 pieces) and materials (30,000 tons of salt and beet juice).
