Satan, cowboys, high-octane liquor and heroin. These are the things that Supersuckers are made of. But the Seattle-by-way-of-Tucson quartet has more going on musically than your average band of burnouts. Signed to Sub Pop during the height of grunge mania, the group has managed to persevere long after most of its peers have died or moved on. With a scorching sound that melds punk’s power-chord ethos with metal’s high-flying antics, the Suckers are one of the most pummeling veteran outfits on the touring circuit. On its spring effort, Motherfuckers Be Trippin‘, frontman and lead spaz Eddie Spaghetti rants and rails against a music industry that’s turned its back on real rock.
