Gladstone Summertime Bluesfest

It’s the 14th year for this free blues concert featuring local and touring acts. The music begins at 6 p.m. Friday with Fast Johnny Ricker, John Hammond and Albert Castiglia. On Saturday, Mark Montgomery and Max Berry kick off the show at 2 p.m., followed by Levee Town, Everette DeVan Trio with Tom “Trashmouth” Baker, Grady Champion and Charlie Musselwhite. Coolers are allowed (but no alcohol), and food vendors also are available. No pets are allowed. Admission is free, and parking is $5. Jazz in the Woods

Organized by the Overland Park South Rotary Club, this free jazz concert at Corporate Woods raises funds for local children’s charities. This family event has food and beverage vendors, free parking, and a kids’ pavilion with face painting and inflatables.
