Study Break
In college, there was always that brief time between Thanksgiving and the end of the semester when everyone on campus seemed to be pulsing with the pent-up stress of past and future family obligations, coupled with the pressure of finals. It was the time of all-night study sessions and bleary-eyed paper writing, roommate fights and dorm crying jags, angry calls home and sudden breakups. Knowing this and acting mercifully, Kemper at the Crossroads (33 West 19th Street, 816-753-5784) puts on “Late Night University” from 9 to 11 tonight. It’s a chance for overburdened college students to get away from campus and do something genuinely relaxing. There will be music, food and T-shirt making to go along with Keltie Ferris’ Man Eaters show and the rest of the First Friday hullabaloo. It’s free, but a valid student ID is needed for admission.
