Streetcar art appears on Main Street

  • The art is up, but the website is not.

Update: Jase Wilson just got in touch to say Neighbor.ly had nothing to do with the painting. When asked who did it, Wilson sent this e-mail: “Really good question. Hope to find out soon enough – I think it’s a Twitter follower. Whoever it was knew about the project URL, but did not know the revised launch schedule.”

Original post: Last week, Neighbor.ly founder Jase Wilson told The Pitch that his company’s efforts to crowd-fund the downtown streetcar would launch to coincide with the MLB All-Star Game festivities. And the first street art pushing the project has arrived on Main Street. Just north of 18th Street, a painting of streetcar tracks over bricks has appeared with a yellow sign proclaiming it to be a streetcar crossing. Written in chalk next to the painting is the website Ourstreetcar.com. That website sends visitors back to Neighbor.ly’s site, which appears to be down.
