Street performer J-Whizz’s bike stolen

Some jerk stole beloved Kansas City street performer James “J-Whizz” Hathorn’s bike, according to a post on Craigslist. The notice reads: “Kona Hot Rod!!!!!! BIKE STOLEN FROM VERY DEDICATED DANCER!!!! WAS HIS TRANSPORTATION EVERYWHERE PLEASE IF YOU SEE IT CALL (816) 698-9669 AND POLICE!!!!! its the only bike in KC”
J-Whizz is well-known around town for his frenzied dance routines in public spaces. A 2007 Pitch Best Of honor described his work this way: With a ghetto blaster, a water jug, sweat towels and business cards that read “Street Dancer 4 Hire. Cheap But Not Free,” the 35-year-old is on a mission to show that it’s just that sort of unpredictable, spastic staggering that can shock and amaze. Dancing, after all, is about self-expression, not self-consciousness.”
