Stealing Time: Tevis, Flanny, Herm

By JUSTIN KENDALL

Sean Tevis didn’t win a seat in the Kansas Legislature, but the guy was still a campaign phenom. The latest from his campaign site is the story of taking his blog down after 10 years because his opponent would most surely use any and all silly photos against him in attack ads. “I felt like I was removing a part of myself,” Tevis writes. “At least I know why politicians always seem so bland — they’ve done a good job sanitizing their life. Or, at least, they don’t live in the online world.” Tevis was truly before his time. Too bad a few more people in Olathe couldn’t see it.

Bottom Line Communications’ John Landsberg must wear a WWFD? bracelet. Landsberg wonders what ex-Star writer Jeffrey Flanagan would do with the Larry “King Pink” Johnson drink-spitting mess. “Flanny may have noted that [Ashley] Stewart’s Attorney, Kirra N. Jones, is the sister of former University of Missouri standout quarterback Corby Jones,” Landsburg muses. “He’s also an attorney, but with a different firm.” Since the Star layoffs, we may never know what Flanny would have done.

There’s a great big divide between downtown and the just about every neighborhood thanks to some poor highway planning in the 1950s. BlogKC notes a couple of upcoming meetings where Kansas Citians can share their ideas for covering the loop of highways. The first meeting is at the KC Design Center, 1018 Baltimore, Tuesday night at 5:30. My suggestion: the Snuggie.

Hermism of the moment from Arrowhead Addict: “We’ve got another good football player and that’s good,” Edwards said of King Pink’s return.
