Stealing Time: Funk sues the city, Kinder abandons GOP?

By JUSTIN KENDALL

Slow day out there so far on the blogs. Dan from Gone Mild comes to Mayor Mark Funkhouser’s defense for suing the city to overturn the volunteer ordinance. “I hate to see litigation erupt, but the Council’s attempt to take over the Mayor’s office was a serious breach of governmental roles, and Mark’s suit is important and justified not just for his own convenience, but for future councils and future mayors,” Dan writes.

Here’s the official word from Funk’s Front Porch. Something about protecting the integrity of the mayor’s office. And guess who’s giddy?

Did Peter Kinder abandon his fellow Republicans in the days leading up to the election? Fired Up Missouri may have proof: a sample ballot distributed in St. Louis City by Voters for a Good Government that aligns the newly elected lieutenant governor with the Dems. Who knew this new spirit of Dem-Repub love would have begun before the election?

That’s all for today.I guess I have to get to work now.
