Set to launch this summer in 12 cities, entertainment rag Glance dresses up KC in its love this weekend for the magazine’s inaugural fashion-week celebration. Celebrity hosts and musical guests punch up 40 back-to-back shows, revealing the works of local and national designers. “We feel as though Kansas City has a lot of hidden talent, and until now they haven’t been showcased in the correct light,” Bobbi Messelt, Glance special project coordinator, says. “We’re hoping that this event will help put those up-and-coming designers in the area on the fashion map.” Fashion Week KC kicks off at 5 p.m. today and continues from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and 12 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets start at $30 and must be purchased in advance (proceeds benefit Hope House Kansas City), and all events take place at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center (2345 McGee).
