Sporting KC opening No Other Pub in the Power & Light District

The Power & Light District is the place to watch soccer matches in Kansas City, especially after packing the KC Live Block for the World Cup.

Opportunity hasn’t been lost on the owners of Sporting Kansas City. The club has announced plans to open No Other Pub in the former Z-Strike bowling alley space at 1370 Grand Boulevard. Opening day is Monday, February 22.

So what’s in the pub? You had me at taco stand. Yes, there will be tacos. And local craft beers and spirits. The word “comprehensive” is used before the booze, so there’s a lot t like already. Plus, some of the tables will have taps so you can top off your own beers.

Also, there will be games, with bowling (tearing out four lanes sounds onerous), golf simulators, table tennis, shuffleboard, foosball and darts. And the sports bar will feature a 10-by-15 foot video wall. Expect Wi-Fi and charging stations, too.

The pub is a collaboration with the Cordish Companies and Entertainment Consulting International.

In a press statement, Sporting CEO Robb Heineman said” “Our club has celebrated many special moments at Power & Light in recent years, including the announcement of the rebrand in 2010. On that day, we stated our desire for Sporting Kansas City to become a true cultural brand for our fans. The opening of No Other Pub is a natural extension for us. We are excited to create more memorable experiences at P&L, and hopefully expose even more people to our brand.”
