Spirits and Specters
You might think, based on the words and pictures of many local media outlets, that Kansas City, Kansas, has its fair share of demons already. It is unfairly maligned as a province of crime and decay. It is hazed as the beer-can-strewn backyard of rural racing fans. But the truth is that KCK offers a great deal more than that. And tonight you can shove the metro area’s stereotypes aside and explore KCK’s real demons on the Haunted Ghost Tour of Downtown KCK. Tonight at 8, board a bus at Fat Matt’s Vortex (411 North Sixth Street) for a 90-minute tour of what are reputed to be the city’s most haunted sites. Walk through an infamous cemetery and hear spine-tingling tales of the Kaw River. It’s truly scary stuff, so kids younger than 12 are not allowed. Tickets cost $17.50 per person.
