Sons of Brasil’s 20th Anniversary Show: a Q&A with Stan Kessler

Jazz hands! It’s fun to say and type. Also: to do!

I’m not sure you’d want to stand up and start getting all jazz handy at a Sons of Brasil show, but I’m sure the band members would enjoy some kind of bodily moving and shaking at their 20th anniversary show at Jardine’s tonight (8 p.m., $5).

I recently typed with Stan Kessler, Sons of Brasil’s trumpet and flugelhorn player, and asked him about the band’s start and evolution, and what he thinks about Kansas City’s jazz scene.
