As legal cannabis has developed in the Show-Me State, plenty of different products have become available to Missourians. For those on the go wanting a quick fix, a pre-roll is an easy choice.

Like all products within the cannabis industry, pre-rolls come in many shapes and sizes: .5g, 1g, and for the stoners with the highest tolerances, 1.5g hash holes, which are just a few of the numerous options available in the state. As far as pre-rolls go, there is something for everyone, from the once in a blue moon consumer to the everyday cannabis connoisseur.

Tumble—cannabis brand under Arizona-based parent company Timeless, which we highlighted in May for a fundraising partnership with Head for the Cure—has three different styles of pre-rolls for Missouri consumers: Rise, Flow, and Drift, each contingent on the specific strain.

The Pitch recently had the opportunity to sample all of the Tumble .5g pre-roll three-packs. As the names of the different styles suggest, the effects had my mind and body moving according to each strain’s intentions.

Sharkleberry Fin Infused .5g Pre-Roll: The Sharkleberry Fin Infused Pre-Roll is Tumble’s ‘Rise’ option, as the strain is the brand’s Sativa-dominant product. Lighting up these joints and inhaling, notes of tropical citrus are prominent within every pull. The brand uses a signature tumbling process—hence the company name—to incorporate THCA diamonds and THC distillate into the mini J. The result is a smooth, slow-burning product that does a great job smoking steadily and not running, which can be difficult with infused pre-rolls.

This small but mighty joint is perfect for an everyday consumer to take the edge off. Considering the pre-roll is only a .5g, the communal aspect of passing the joint around is less appealing when it may take a little more than the average person to catch a buzz. I smoked a few of these ‘Rise’ pre-rolls one morning, where my schedule was surprisingly more open than usual. I packed up my joints and headed down to the river to enjoy an uplifting high within some urban nature. Thankfully, I remembered my lighter.

Cactus Chiller Infused .5g Pre-Roll: Playing along with terms that describe each strain, the Cactus Chiller Infused .5g Pre-Roll is the company’s ‘Flow’ style of THC conglomeration, serving as a hybrid high. In contrast to the ‘Rise’, this pre-roll offered a more earthy tone, making for a very leveled and mellow high. But, similarly to the previously mentioned product, the joint rolls consistently, rejecting any canoeing. Members of the Tumble team say that this is all due to the way that they tumble the products together.

I enjoyed the Cactus Chiller Infused .5g Pre-Rolls during an afternoon where this Midwest heat is reaching its summer peak. Luckily, the effects of the product left me feeling pretty chill, as the strain’s name indicates.

Blackberry Kush Infused .5g Pre-Roll: Now that we have touched on the sativa and hybrid choices, of course, there is only one style of strain left to cover: the indica, or, as Tumble refers to it, the ‘Drift’ pre-roll. Upon inhaling the joint, a stronger herb and earthy profile come through, which is counterbalanced when exhaling, as the product offers an incredibly sweet, almost gummy candy-flavored aftertaste. Each of the three strains maintained smooth burns and provided a white/grayish ash that holds strong through the process.

This ‘Drift’ pre-roll is probably best suited for winding down late in the evening, as I found myself sparking the joints up before plopping myself on the couch to try and watch whatever movie was calling my name. And while I may have been conked on the couch around an hour into The Fall Guy, I can say that first half of the film was pretty darn entertaining, largely due to being absolutely zoned in when Ryan Gosling was drugged in a club and an ultimate hallucinating fight scene broke out into colors and movements my brain could hardly process.
