Smoke This Now: Hitoki’s Trident V3 is leading the way in laser bong technology
Picture a classic laser beam. Now picture a bowl the size of the socket you used for your gravity bongs as a college student. Combine the two and you have what Georgia-based company Hitoki is pioneering: laser beam bongs. Yes, stoner ingenuity is no joke.
Pairing two passions of lasers and cannabis together, brothers Joe and Jack Tran created an innovative way to elevate your high. Their line of laser bongs offers an entirely new consumption experience to cannabis users.
The company’s most recently released product, the Trident V3, is an all-in-one smoking device with over 280 laser ignitions that combust the bud. This piece is best suited for true stoners. With a price of $599.00, more consistent cannabis users are the targeted demographic for such a perplexing piece of machinery.
For those who are truly looking to raise the bar in terms of smoothness, cleanness, and efficiency, Hitoki’s Trident V3 offers a method that would blow the minds of cannabis consumers 50 years ago. The Pitch recently had an opportunity to speak with Hitoki Co-Founder Joe Tran and sample the Trident V3. It is unlike anything we have yet to experience.
With a similar design to a salt or pepper shaker, the Hitoki Trident V3 has three different attachments that unite to make the piece functional; the glass base that holds a small amount of water, the water filter with two down stems that reach into the water—one serving as a water-resistant feature that restrains liquid from flowing into the electric portion of the bong—along with a small bowl on the top half where flower is loaded, and the high-tech electrical piece that holds the laser ignitions.
Combining all three gives you the Trident V3. The device has an attachable hose, similar to a hookah pipe, that is interconnected to the middle of the piece for the user to draw out of. After adding just a bit of water to the glass base and attaching it to the rest of the piece, all that is left to do is load the bowl with the desired amount of flower, click the button on the top of the bong five times to turn it on, two more times to get the lasers beaming, and take a soothing smooth pull on the hose.
The Trident V3 also has three different heating options to choose from by clicking the button three times—Consumers can alternate between the low and medium heat depending on how big of a hit is fancied. The highest heat is intended for adding small bits of concentrate to the flower to get an even more potent hit.
There is a carb button on the side of the water filter base that allows the user to clear the bowl a few different times as the lasers do their work during the inhale.
Upon first use, I was not sure what to expect out of this advanced technology that I had never even considered as a possible way of consumption. Now that it is a reality, it’s hard for me to say that I would go back to a normal bong.
Pulling from the hose, you see the blue lasers stem down and begin to cook the flower, as the water bubbles and smoke begins to fill the glass base. After just a few seconds of the laser’s cooking, you can clear the bowl, untwist the electrical piece off of the top, and then stir the bowl up a bit to get the rest of the flower lit upon next use. It usually takes me two separate hits to completely clear the bowl.
The reason why this method of consumption can be appealing is because it is a much cleaner way to use cannabis. Without the use of butane or even hemp wicks, the laser offers a very smooth draw that allows individuals to truly taste the flower. Eliminating the contaminants and carcinogens that come with the other forms of sparking the light allows those who are looking for a more pristine route to get the full flavor of the bud. And when you are spending a hefty amount to buy high-quality cannabis from dispensaries, tasting the flower is such a large part of the experience that can get lost in other smoking methods.
Another aspect of the Trident V3 that makes it an easy choice is how efficient the device is. Only having to load a pinch of flower and still get multiple rips makes it easy for Trident V3 owners to conserve their stash. And not only is it efficient in helping save the bank, but the battery in the device stays charged for up to 300 hits. I mean, it would take about a month or so for me to even have to consider recharging it.
Overall, the Hitoki Trident V3 is unlike any other bong that I have come across during my time consuming cannabis. While I was unaware that this way of indulging in the plant was even possible, now it has become an easy go-to for all the reasons stated above. Like I said earlier, with a price of $599.00, it is not going to be for the once-in-a-while cannabis user, but for those who are consuming on an everyday basis. If you are a consistent cannabis customer and have the means to purchase the product, the Hitoki Trident V3 will truly take you to new heights through its laser magic.
