Smashing Pumpkins is coming to Sandstone

​No, not the Silversun Pickups — it’s the real Smashing Pumpkins. (Or at least, as “real” as you can call the current incarnation of the band; iconic frontman Billy Corgan is still operating under the band’s original moniker, so that’s good enough for now.) In case you haven’t kept up with Corgan’s latest endeavors, the band is currently recording the 44-track Tegarden by Kaleidyscope, which has been released, one song at a time, since late 2009. (More importantly, there were also rumors earlier this year that he was dating Jessica Simpson.)

Atmospheric rockers Civil Twilight will open the September 25 show at Sandstone, according to Pollstar.
