Six+ things to do this weekend

Friday
Punk It! — a fashion, art and music showcase hosted by local designer Cali Roberta. (Oops! I accidentally listed this in last week’s roundup, but it’s really, truly happening tonight at the Scion Lab, behind Grinders on Oak between 18th and 19th streets. I promise.)
Got a scooter? Mad Toto Scooter Club’s annual scooter festival starts today. Tornado R’Alley involves group rides, scooter judging and a scoot-in screening of The Wizard of Oz.
Step back in circus time at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park during Zoppe, an old-fashioned, Italian circus presented by Johnson County Community College. There are clowns, trapeze artists, dogs and horses. No word on yet on freaks.
Saturday
Get up close and personal with sheep and see how their woolly coats get turned into wearables and decorative items during Fiber Fest at the Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site.
Local women’s football team KC Storm takes on rivals the Minnesota Machine at North Kansas City High School. (No, the players aren’t in high school, that’s just the field where they tackle each other.)
Support social justice, peace and environmental sustainability during the Community Festival for Justice and Peace from 1 to 5 p.m. at the UMKC University Center and Walkway, 50th and Rockhill Road. The event is meant to inspire good deeds through workshops, speakers, exhibits and music.
Sunday
If you don’t already have a ticket, cross your fingers that some are left. At 5 p.m. today, The Pitch brings more than 20 local restaurants and a bunch of the city’s star chefs to KC Live for Taste of Kansas City. Eat up!
