Sike Style

Most of us have one thing we can do really well. But the artist known as Sike Style (or DJ Sike Steez) attempts a number of endeavors — promotion, sponsorship, DJing, fashion design — then waits to see which do the best business. Or maybe he really does want to do everything. This Sunday at the Peanut downtown, Sike will be in the house as a mere DJ, performing alongside local rap groups CES Cru and Anti-Crew. One of the MCs in the latter group, FlareThaRebel, is actually Sike’s little brother. The two are originally from Brooklyn. “Sike has always been there for us in providing connections with other people in the music community,” Flare says of the brother who sponsors many Anti-Crew shows. Many locals think of Sike as the man with a million MySpace pages or as fashion designer first and DJ second. That’s why he’s one of the more underrated DJs in town.
