Show Me Pride 2010 and Pride protest slideshow

Show Me Pride 2010, Kansas City’s own week-long celebration during Gay Pride Month, came to an end Sunday night with a festival at Richard L. Berkley Riverfront Park featuring ’90s R&B sensation, En Vogue. Pride saw its fair share of controversy this year when some Show Me Pride events were held in the Power & Light District. A splinter group staged a protest against what they felt are the district’s exclusionary dress code and homophobic practices. Pitch photographer Nicole Reinertson shot both.
