You’ve heard of Sike Style — graphic designer, DJ and hip-hop promoter all in one. But have you heard of his kid brother? If not, it’s probably because Style the younger is too young to hit the bars most nights. But not this Thursday, when the Hurricane (4048 Broadway) hosts an all-ages hip-hop show from 6-8 p.m. This is a big chance to catch his crew, which is made up entirely of high school kids. The performers in the Disciples of Hip-Hop aren’t old enough to buy cigarettes, let alone beer.

Plenty of grown-up hip-hop groups are on the bill, too, and the show is repeated at 10 p.m. for the 21-and-older set, so all the ageists out there can relax. On the lineup — devised by Clarence Draper — are Mac Lethal, Reach, C.E.S. Cru (boasting a flow of twenty words a second — a rate even the most fast-typing secretaries can’t rival) and the socially conscious rappers in the Guild (pictured). In from California, we also get Okwerdz, known for his ability to dominate the underground battle circuit. After the 10 p.m. to midnight show, DJ Just spins until 3 a.m.

Everybody wants a piece of Caligula.

Building temples to himself and otherwise flashing his wealth, Caligula was the original Donald Trump, the emperor with nice clothes.

The Minds Eye Theatre chooses Albert Camus’ take on him for Caligula, the troupe’s first show of the new year at Just Off Broadway (3051 Central), opening Thursday. “I’m putting my spin on it,” director Christopher King says. “The actors are wearing street clothes, for example.” We wondered if the sexual acrobatics from the 1980 film, produced by Penthouse‘s Bob Guccione, would make the final cut. “I think he was sexual with men and women, but it’s still all rumor and innuendo,” King says of Caligula. “But I’m envisioning him as Prince Charles meets American Psycho.” For tickets or more information, call 913-897-2348.— Steve Walker
