Scion Garage Fest in Lawrence is a perfect fit

The second Scion Garage Fest descended upon Lawrence Saturday night, and while a small college town in Kansas may seem like a curious choice to hold a free festival devoted to garage, punk, and rock acts — instead of Austin or Madison — Lawrence got the jump on those more hallowed music-friendly cities. It was a perfect fit: one that begs the music gods to make something like this happen every year in Lawrence.
The autumn air—crisp. The location of the venues—centralized. The hipsters—dirty, dressed in leggings and gauzy scarves. (Random notebook jot: “It’s like an Urban Outfitters catalog was fucked by the “Do” section of Vice.”)
